Renaissance Festival and Pumpkin Patch Weekend
Last weekend we took the kids out for some weekend fun. I wasn’t able to work on the pics before leaving for training so these are from October 11-12th.
On Saturday we took a trip in time back to the middle ages by way of a time portal known simply as "Maryland Renaissance Festival"
We began our adventure by traversing the land in our valiant steed “Sir Pontiac” The travel was perilous but we succeeded and shortly arrived in the kingdom of kings (Crownsville, MD). On arrival we paid tribute to the entrance gods and entered the gates, whereupon, Princess Paige and King James had their portrait taken.
After use of the local privies Queen Jen Became a member of the prestigious “Feathered Head” Society. Only very distinguished members are allowed to wear the feathers.
In the meantime, Princess Paige was practicing the forgotten art of bubble chasing.
We toured the kingdom, noting its magnificent architecture. There were many interesting, and unusual homes throughout the kingdom. The local populous was out and about, making travel throughout the land slow and cumbersome.
Princess Paige went through a rite of passage by joining the “Unicorn Guild” For which she is now a member for life. After branding, she was given the unicorn name “Unie”
We paused to consume small amounts of food and Prince Connor Had his first taste of the elixir of life, “Pickles”. It took some getting used to but he chowwed down like the best of them now!
Later during the day, Princess Paige and Prince Connor were given the royal treatment and inducted into the “funny hat” club.
At day’s end, after such a long, tiring, and adventurous day in the land of the King, we said our goodbyes to the common folk and set of to return to the home of the moron’s, Baltimorons that is!! But first, we had to rest at the fountain of youth to quench our parched palates!
Sunday at the Pumpkin Patch
We met Mom-Mom, Uncle Chris, Christina, and Nathan at a pumpkin patch in PA. Jen bought Connor the cutest pumpkin stuff to wear. He was our little “pumpkinhead” for the day! This place had some farm animals too, which the kiddos got up close and personal with.
Everyone knows that Paige is very attached to her Mommy, but nobody knew it was this much!!
Connor loved the pumpkins on display!
We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins for the year. Everyone had a blast looking for that perfect pumpkin. Connor was methodical, having to inspect every square inch of his!
Whereas, Paige was too busy contemplating life in the cornfield.
Connor and Paige had some pumpkin bonding time together.
Paige and Nathan had fun playing together with the wagon, and in the end, the kids were tired of having to pose for pictures!!

Love Connor's expressions when tasting the pickle! : )
Great pics, James and Jen!!
Love the ones of Paige and Connor together with the pumpkins and the ones with their hats on at the fair. Sure looks like a neat Medieval Fair.
More pics for our albums :-)
I sure enjoy blogg and pics!
Conner is going to be a pickle lover like Grandpa Larry.
Paige looks so cute with her face painting and the Princess hat.
Conner is a natural in the wizard hat.
Love Grandpa Larry
No just Grandpa Larry---we fight over pickles in our house! I think that Paige would drink pickle juice if she could!
Maybe we'll have to try some of Jesse and Julie's Pickle Pops!
